It is funny how much my attitude has changed towards this day. I still think it is lame unnecessary and hate how it just brings up such sadness that I can't talk to my mom. But I have also learned that it means so much to the boys. Just like it did to me when I was a kid. It isn't about me anymore it is about them. And as much as I think I put them first this was something I was only thinking of my feelings.
I could not have picked a better year to fully accept the love of this day. Jacobs class did a special Mothers Day Tea on Friday. They had the whole MPR at the school decorated for us. I got there early enough to snag front row (yay me!). The kids had poems and saying they stood on stage and read individually and after a few they would stop and then sing a song to us. It was so sweet and so special. It made me feel so excited and so loved to have Jacob singing to me and saying such sweet things to me in a public setting with his peers.
Saturday we spent the morning at Nicky's Volleyball Game. Let me just say he is doing great, and he just loves it! I had to leave early to take Jacob to a Hockey make up class. Which he loves that as well. He may not be in a league for a bit but he is so enjoying these classes. I am so proud of these boys sticking to this and having fun.
We decided to head to Ventura Pier to go crabbing and to fish.
Well this was an experience for sure! This was our first time crabbing ever. We arrived there and everyone carried something to the pier and sat down and got our crab net loaded with a Chicken leg and cat food (don't ask, I guess it's normal?)
Well we let Nicky and Jacob do the lowering of it instead of throwing it out.
Meanwhile I rolled my pants up and chilled.....
I love those boys to pieces even when I have ripped all the hair out of my head. They make me so proud everyday! I am so very lucky to have them in my life. I don;t know how I manage all 4 of them half the time but I do and I hope they know how much I do for them and how much I love them. They come first forever and always....
XOXO,
One Lucky Momma!
